The City holds a number of special collection events to encourage recycling, reuse, and proper disposal of universal waste:

  • On-Call Bulky Pickup (Single Family Residential Only) is available annually to single family residents. Call Waste Management of Alameda County 1 + (510) 613-8710 to schedule your bulky pickup any time of the year.

  • Free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events at Golden Gate Fields are held twice per year in June and October for all Alameda County residents. Other events are held throughout the County. You must register in advance to participate. Please visit  http://www.stopwaste.org/recycling/residents/household-hazardous-waste/one-day-event for upcoming events and registration information.

  • Holiday Tree Collection
    Trees are collected throughout the month of January every year. Set your unflocked trees at the curb with your regular trash pickup. Trees over 6' must be cut to 6' or smaller, remove nails, tinsel, ornaments and tree stands.
      
  • Universal Waste Batteries, Florescent Bulbs, Mercury, etc. These materials must not go in the regular trash.
