Commission Origin
Commission Purpose
Advises the City Council on policies and strategies for implementation of the Housing Element programs related to tenant protections, fair and equitable access to housing, housing programs, rent review, administration and resources that fall outside of the purview of the Land Development Volume Chapters 19-23 of the Albany Municipal Code.
Commission Composition
The Commission will consist of a total of five members appointed and ratified by City Council as a Whole. The membership shall include 1 tenant, 1 affiliate of a local educational institution, and 1 rental provider that may either be a resident of, or provide rental housing within, the City of Albany.
The appointment term runs until the next Municipal Election after Council ratification.
