The City of Albany is utilizing a portion of its American Rescue Plan Act Funds (ARPA) to assist income eligible Albany tenants who are facing a temporary financial setback.
You may be eligible for one-time financial assistance if you are an Albany renter and you:
- Are at risk of becoming delinquent on your rent, or
- Have fallen behind on your rent since the Alameda County eviction moratorium ended on April 29, 2023.
Renters who have accumulated debt to pay rent, or to pay for food and other household expenses, may also be eligible.
Qualified tenants will receive a limited amount of rent on their behalf. Payments will be made directly to landlords. Rent owed from before the Alameda County eviction moratorium was ended will not be covered.
Tenants must reside in Albany, will need to meet eligibility requirements and complete the application process, including providing documentation of household finances.
Household income and savings will be considered. The chart below shows the maximum income that a household can make to participate in the program:
