(Consent Calendar items are considered to be routine by the Commission/Committee/Board and will be enacted by one motion. By approval of the Consent Calendar, the staff recommendations will be adopted unless otherwise modified by the Commission/Committee. There will be no separate discussion on these items unless a Commission/Committee/Board Member or a member of the audience requests removal of the items from the Consent Calendar.)

3-1 Approval of pension payments for the month of January 2018 in the amount of $108,321.67. (See attached spreadsheets for calculations of Fire Disability Members.)

Staff recommendation: Approve

3-2 Ratification of pension payments for the month of December 2017 in the amount of $107,665.92

Staff recommendation: Ratify

3-3 Ratification of pension payments for the month of November 2017 in the amount of $107,665.92

Staff recommendation: Ratify

3-4 Approval of Minutes of the regular meeting of October 31, 2017.

Staff recommendation: Approve

3-5 Ratification of invoice dated November 10, 2017 from Atlantic Trust in the amount of $7,761.20 for investment services for the period 10/1/17 through 12/31/17.

Staff recommendation: Ratify


4. PUBLIC COMMENT

For persons desiring to address the Commission/Committee/Board on an item that is not on the agenda please note that each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes. The Brown Act limits the Committee’s ability to take and/or discuss items that are not on the agenda; therefore, such items are normally referred to staff for comment or to a future agenda.

5. REPORTS

5-1. Vicken Ekmekjian of Atlantic Trust presenting investment report for the quarter ended December 31, 2017.

Staff recommendation: Note and file

6. DISCUSSIONS AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON MATTERS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

6-1. Chairperson Denton regarding need for new, full actuarial analysis of the Pension Fund, and need to find a new firm to perform said analysis.

Staff recommendation: None at this time

6-2. Chairperson Denton regarding need for new alternates to the Board, and the procedure for appointing them.

Staff recommendation: That Chairperson Denton follow through with the process for appointing new alternates to the Board, as per Section 9.01 of the City Charter.

8-1. The next regularly scheduled Pension Board meeting will be held on Tuesday April 24, 2018.
