NEW! City Council approved an additional $75,000 for the rebate program and increased rebate amounts for low and moderate-income households!

The City of Albany is offering rebates for heat pump heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems! The City is also offering a $750 signing bonus for contractors who register with BayREN or TECH. 

Rebate Amounts

All Albany households are eligible for a rebate. However moderate and low-income households can receive larger rebates 

Standard Rebate Moderate-Income Low-Income
Ducted System $1000 $3000 $6000
Ductless System $500 $1000 $1500

Electric Panel Upgrade

(with a heat pump)

$500 $1000 $2000

 

Eligibility

In order to be eligible, heat pump installations must

  • be in the City of Albany
  • receive a building permit
  • apply for the rebate within 4 months of receiving a permit

You can apply as soon as you receive a building permit! The rebates will be distributed first come, first serve based on the date of application.

Contractor Signing Bonus

Contractors who register with BayREN or TECH in the last four months will be eligible for a $750 signing bonus.  Contractors must have an active Albany business license.
