The Albany Senior Center maintains up-to-date information on services available to seniors in Alameda County. Senior Services staff and volunteers are available to assist you with various social services requests such as health coverage, home health services, meals programs and housing assistance.
Nutrition Services:
Albany Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels are delivered four days a week to homebound seniors. The food is delivered hot and is equivalent to a third of the recommended daily allowance. Enrollment required. Suggested donation: $4.00 per meal.
Albany Tri City Café
Make new friends and enjoy a delicious, well-balanced dinner provided Wednesdays and Thursdays at 12 pm. First come, first serve program. Call the Albany Senior Center at (510)524-9122 to reserve your spot. Suggested donation: $4 per meal. Under 60 years of age, the cost is $5.
Brown Bag Program
Brown Bag distributions are on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month between
9:30 am -10:30 am. Members must have transportation and be present to pick up their bag of groceries.
Eligible resident must be 60 or older, with a gross monthly income of $1,354 for a single person and $2,192 for families of two or greater. All applicants must provide identification and proof of income at the time of registration. Membership must be renewed annually in July. An annual voluntary contribution $10. Mercy Care Center's Brown Bag Program collects and distributes donated food to 1,500 low-income seniors twice a month at 12 sites in Alameda County. The Albany Senior Center is the designated site for the City of Albany.

Blood pressure checks are available at the Albany Senior Center on the 2nd Wednesdays of each month . Call the Senior Center at 1 + (510) 524-9122 for more information.

Day Trips
The Albany Senior Center offers monthly day trips designed with you in mind! Enjoy the many treasures nestled throughout the Bay Area and beyond just waiting to be discovered. Connect with other seniors in the community, go sightseeing, and visit fun attractions, cultural, social and recreational destinations. All of the planning has been done for you and you don’t have to drive. Have a fun day!
Forms Completion Assistance
Senior Center staff is available by appointment to assist with filling out forms and applications such as Paratransit, Homeowner/Renter Assistance application forms, garbage discount etc. Call the Senior Center at 1 + (510) 524-9122 to make an appointment.
Legal Assistance for Seniors (LAS)
Legal Assistance for Seniors (LAS) provides free legal advice and representation, health insurance counseling, and community education to qualified Alameda County residents.
Book Library
A large selection of donated books are for sale for only 50 cents (paperback) and $1 (hardcover).
Computer Lab
2 computers are available at the Senior Center for self-serve 30 minute sessions. This is available Mondays through Fridays from 9am-5pm.
Technology One-on-One
Come ask questions about your devices with a one-on-one teaching session with a dedicated staff member. This is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm.
