Albany City Council invites high school students and adults who are affiliated with students in Albany to apply (when vacancy available) and serve on some of the Albany Commission / Committee to advise Albany City Council on important topics.

Albany's Boards, Commissions and Committees have a specified number of members. Generally, each City Council Member appoints one or more members to the particular advisory body and these appointees have a term until the next Municipal Election (2 years).

Vacancies arise when a current member of an advisory body resigns or no longer meets the requirements to serve on an advisory body. Up-to-date vacancy information is posted online below and noticed in a variety of outlets including the City's eNews. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and will be held for future vacancies if none exist at the time the application is received.

If you are interested in applying for a vacancy, please fill out this online form (1. Advisory Body Application)  (or PDF form to print and submit in person) for all advisory bodies. This form is sent directly to the City Clerks Office.  Please note, the Housing Advisory Commission, Planning & Zoning Commission and Policing Commission have an additional Supplemental Questionnaire each (see 2. Supplemental Questionnaire below) to complete the application:
