Voter Information Guide is scheduled to be mailed to registered voters by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters between September 26 - October 15, 2024

Vote-by-Mail Ballot is scheduled to be mailed to registered voters by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters starting October 7, 2024. Vote-by-Mail ballots may also be obtained at the Alameda County Office of Registrar of Voters after October 7, 2024.
By law, the first day ballots can be mailed to voters is 29 days before an election (October 7, 2024). Ballots are mailed continuously during the 29 day period. Visit the Alameda County Office of Registrar of Voters website for Vote-by-Mail FAQs. 

Several Ways to Return your Vote-by-Mail Ballot:

  1. Send by USPS mail postmarked by the Election Day 11/5/2024.
     
  2. Drop off at the 24-Hour Drop Box located right outside of City Hall entrance on the parking lot side (1000 San Pablo Avenue). Remember to sign the back of your ballot envelope. Visit Alameda County Registrar of Voters website to find other 24-Hour Drop Boxes. 

  3. Cast your vote at any Alameda County Accessible Vote Centers when they are open in November 2024. Visit Alameda County Registrar of Voters website for locations of Vote Centers. 

  4. Other ways to return your Vote-by-Mail Ballot (such as Ballot Drop Stop Events) will be updated later per information provided by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters Office

Nomination Period:   

July 15, 2024 to August 9, 2024. Please schedule an appointment with the City Clerk to obtain or file nomination paperwork.

Extended Nomination Period: 

If an incumbent eligible for re-election does not file, the nomination period is extended for that office to Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Nomination Papers are to be obtained and filed during this nomination period.  Candidate Nomination Packet will be available by scheduling an appointment with the City Clerk (Email: CityClerk@AlbanyCA.org) at the Office of the City Clerk, 1000 San Pablo Avenue, Albany, CA 94706.
