Container gardening solves so many problems: it expands growing space in the sun where there is no healthy soil available, it provides an area near the back door, by the kitchen, to grow greens and herbs, and containers are easy to maintain and change out.

Tuesday, June 23 (8-9pm)
We will cover the basics of container gardening, using a variety of containers, and talk about what herbs, vegetables, edible flowers and fruits do well in containers and how to keep them healthy and productive in containers.
Saturday, June 27 (11am-noon)
We will review the container basics and delve more deeply into the ideal conditions for growing herbs, veggies and fruits in containers and their maintenance. We will also cover the timing for planting various garden ‘crops’ throughout the year.

About the Instructor: Patricia St. John is a professional landscape designer who has been designing gardens and container plantings for the past 24 years. She has also taught in the Landscape Horticulture Dept. at Merritt College for the past 14 years, most recently focusing on Edible Landscaping.
