5. PRESENTATIONS

5-1: Junior Terrace Park Rangers: Luca Menotti will give a presentation to the Commission about the projects the Junior Rangers have been working on in Terrace Park.

5-2: Albany Little League Programs and Field Maintenance: David Preuss from Albany Little League will review baseball programs in Albany and field maintenance contract for services with the City of Albany.

6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS

6-1: Ohlone Greenway Improvements: Landscape Architects Mia Docto and Robin Kim will present a proposal plan for Dartmouth to Masonic.

Staff Recommendation: Provide Mia and Robin with feedback and input on the proposed plans for the Dartmouth to Masonic Section of the Ohlone Greenway.

6-2: Veteran’s Memorial Building: Discuss the possibility of submitting a work plan amendment request to the City Council to update the information previously gathered by the City relevant to the protection and potential rehabilitation of the Veterans Memorial Building.

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission review and discuss the proposed work plan amendment and determine whether the Commission would like to submit a work plan amendment request to City Council for consideration.

6-3: Shrine of Freedom: Discuss the possibility of submitting a work plan amendment request to the City Council regarding the improvements at the Solano and Key Route Median and Shrine of Freedom.

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission review and discuss the proposed work plan amendment and determine whether the Commission would like to submit a work plan amendment request to City Council for consideration.

6-4: Friends of Albany Parks: Ocean View Park Clean Up Report: Liam Kelly will report back to the Commission about the Ocean View Park Clean-Up event that took place on June 21, 2014.

6-5: Friends of Albany Parks: Select 2 Commissioners for September Gala and Clean-Up Day of Dartmouth Tot Lot

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission select 2 Commissioners to attend the Friends of Albany Parks Dartmouth Tot Lot Gala (September 4) and Clean-Up Day (September 20). 
 


7. NEW BUSINESS

7-1: Re-naming Pierce Street Park in memory of Peggy Thomsen: The Commission will discuss nominating Pierce Street Park to be renamed in memory of Peggy Thomsen.

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission decide if they would like to submit a written nomination to the City Manager to rename Pierce Street Park in memory of Peggy Thomsen (per Resolution No. 2012-04 Resolution of the City of Albany City Council Establishing a Facility Naming Policy).

7-2: Tree Removal Application: The Commission will consider the tree removal application at 936 Ramona Avenue.

Staff Recommendation: That the tree removal application for 936 Ramona Avenue be approved.
