5-1 HR 808 Department of Peace building Act of 2013

This bill was assigned to a congressional committee on February 25, 2013, which will consider it before possibly sending it on to the House or Senate as a whole
Recommendation: Reaffirm support of HR808. Continue to follow.
5-2 Update Commission on action taken regarding enforcement of the no camping
Ordinance at the Albany Bulb by the City Council at their 9/3/13 meeting.
Attached: Staff report and Council summary of discussion from 9/3/13 Council meeting
Recommendation: Information only
5-3 Poverty and homelessness.
Discussion of whether the City of Albany should offer permanent crisis assistance/services to the needy beyond what is already provided. (Police, fire, senior, library, park and recreation services). Affordability and practicality are important factors to consider as part of the discussion.
Recommendation: Discussion only
5-4 Work/Issue plan for remainder of 2013.
Attached: 2012 and 2013 Work Plans
Recommendation: Identify issues of importance for consideration by commission.
