Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting

The Park & Recreation Commission advises the City Council on all matters of public recreation, public park facilities and public landscaping in the City. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

3. PUBLIC COMMENT
For persons desiring to address the Commission/Committee/Board on an item that is not on the agenda please note that each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes. The Brown Act limits the Committee’s ability to take and/or discuss items that are not on the agenda; therefore, such items are normally referred to staff for comment or to a future agenda.

6-1: Tom Bates Sports Field: Roger Miller from the City of Berkeley to present information about fee increases and maintenance at the Tom Bates Sports Fields.

7. NEW BUSINESS

7-1: Pierce Street Park: Review of 65% plans for Pierce Street Park: John Hykes, lead architect for Pierce Street Park will present the 65% plans for the project.

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission review plans and make recommendations to Council regarding any modifications.

7-2: Scheduling of Annual Park Evaluations: Commission will discuss plan for scheduling, format and community participation for annual park evaluations.

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission discuss the options for the annual evaluations and develop a schedule.
