6. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON MATTERS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

6-1 Active Transportation Plan:

1. Consideration of request from residents of Dartmouth Avenue neighborhood to modify proposed Dartmouth Shared Street Concept (Project 15) to revise timeline so that stage 1 of the proposed project would be the construction of four traffic circles at the intersection of Dartmouth and Cornell, Talbot, Masonic, and Key Route. Intersection improvements at San Pablo/Dartmouth and Pomona/Dartmouth would be established as Stage 2 of the project.
2. Consideration of request from residents of Dartmouth Avenue neighborhood to establish the proposed traffic circles as a Tier 1 priority.
3. Review the Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration required pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act.
4. Make recommendation to the City Council on adoption of the Active Transportation Plan.

Recommended Action:

1. Recommend that the City Council revise Project 15 to establish Dartmouth Avenue traffic circles as the Stage 1 component of the project and intersection improvements at San Pablo/Dartmouth and Pomona/Dartmouth be established as stage 2 of the project.
2. Recommend that the City Council establish the proposed Dartmouth Avenue traffic circles as a Tier 1 priority
3. Recommend that the City Council approve the Mitigated Negative Declaration.
4. Recommend that the City Council approve the Active Transportation Plan

6-3 Discussion of safety concerns at the intersection of San Pablo and Brighton.

Recommended Action: Approve preparation of a letter of concern to Caltrans.

6-4 Status Report on Share the Road signage and striping on Masonic Avenue.

Recommended Action: No action required. For information only.

6-5 Recommendation to the City Council on the Alameda County Transportation Expenditure Plan supporting the placement of an extension and augmentation of the existing transportation sales tax on the November 2012 Ballot.

6-7 Draft Scope of work for an engineering study to address traffic calming in the Washington Avenue neighborhood.

6-8 Clarification of policy on regarding reports and discussion items.

Recommended Action: That the Commission delegate to the Chair responsibility to manage the amount of time allocated to public and Commission discussion on informational items

7. ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMUNICATIONS

7-1 Correspondence from Jordan Sampietro requesting establishment of a Permit Parking Zone on Washington Avenue between Adams and Masonic.
