A Morning on Albany Hill
Join the Albany Green Team for a morning on beautiful Albany Hill! One of the last open spaces in its area and the only hill in town (rising to a height of 338 feet above sea level), Albany Hill is an island of ecological richness. Its location near the Bay, height, and past history of controlled burns combine to create microclimates hospitable to a multitude of native plant species - 134 at last count.
We'll help these native species survive by pulling highly invasive Scotch broom seedlings and cutting eucalyptus shoots. Find us at the northern (uphill) end of Jackson St., and please wear long sleeves and pants to protect against poison oak. Bring gloves if you have a pair, and a reusable water bottle to help us reduce paper cup usage. Refreshments will be provided!
