The Albany Recreation & Community Services Department will be hosting Neighbor 2 Neighbor Workshops on various topics throughout the year. N2N is all about neighbors sharing ideas, inspiration and knowledge with other neighbors about topics that build community!
Neighbor 2 Neighbor Workshop 4: Mad About Trees
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
6:30-8 pm
Albany Community Center, Rooms 1 & 2
Perhaps you just love trees and all plants, no such thing as a weed, and each day you thank those little green leaves for all they do in giving you life. Or perhaps you just love most trees but hate that neighbor’s tree that blocks out the world and throws maple syrup on your car. International arborist, Albany’s own Urban Forester, Tony Wolcott, will handle both extremes and everything in between. Come and listen to the real green, not a stimulus but a balanced account of the do’s and don’ts in Albany’s forest. (I didn’t know we had a forest! What’s wrong with clear cutting? If a tree is plastic, does it save water? And other inspired questions all answered.)
Next Workshop: October 20th, Aging in Place
