The City of Albany is committed to supporting the visibility, dignity, and culture of the Lisjan people who have continuously lived for thousands of years in the East Bay, including in Albany. In recognition of our positive relationship, the City of Albany will fly the flag of the Confederated Villages of Lisjan at City Hall.
This initial flag raising will be today, Indigenous Peoples Day, on the west side of City Hall, 1000 San Pablo Avenue Albany.
The speakers will include Mayor Gary, City Council member McQuaid and Corrina Gould, Tribal Chair of the Confederated Villages of Lisjan. Please feel welcome to join the City of Albany and the Confederated Villages of Lisjan for this historic ceremony.
