Neighborhood Meeting - Pierce Street Rehabilitation, Re-striping, and Bicycle Path Project

The City of Albany is holding a public meeting with residents on the design proposal for street rehabilitation, restriping plans, and construction of a bicycle path adjacent to the I-80 sound wall along the 500 block of Pierce Street (referred to as Segment I). The meeting will also include design plans for Segment II of the project, which entails the continuation of the pedestrian/bicycle path through Caltrans property to Cleveland Avenue, and ultimately to the Buchanan Bridge Over Crossing.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss with residents of the 500 and 700 blocks of Pierce St. a design alternative that addresses previous concerns and questions before recommending a design plan to the Traffic & Safety Commission and to the City Council in the summer of 2009.
