April 11 - July 5, 2009
Artist's Reception
Sunday, May 3, 4-6 PM
Bay Area artist Jacqueline Neuwirth Krayna displays her large format photographs from the series “Above Ground”. These images document mounds of dirt, sand and soil deposited in a man-made environment. This organic matter, like naturally formed landscapes, is subject to constant change—from the slow erosion by rain and wind, to the immediate and mechanical transformation caused by tractors. These landscapes, although found in urban environments, evoke a deep visceral response, creating an illusion of pristine settings.
A photographer and painter, Jacqueline lives in Albany with her husband and two children, who attend Marin Elementary School. To see more of her photography and painting visit www.jacquelinekrayna.com
