It’s no surprise that girls who play sports have better standardized test results than non-athletes. Or that female athletes go on to earn 7% higher annual wages than their non-athlete peers. And we all know sports also helps boost self-esteem. So Decathlon and the City of Albany are stepping up to the plate to encourage girls to kick, run, shoot, and PLAY LIKE A GIRL!!

The Play Like a Girl event is aimed at getting girls involved in sports in a fun and supportive environment! Decathlon, the City of Albany, Albany Unified School District and organizations from Albany, Berkeley, Oakland and beyond will be offering more than TWENTY different sports to try out. Each organization will offer hands-on activities so girls ages 2-17* can really experience each sport.
