Friends of Albany Parks Clean-up Day - Albany Bulb

Friends of Albany Parks Logo

The Clean-up (Beginning at 9am)

The Friends of Albany Parks program encourages community members to get involved with the care, maintenance and beautification of the Albany Bulb. There will be litter removal and weeding projects, as well as a planting of species native to the East Bay, including the beginning of a manzanita forest. The Planting is co-sponsored by Albany Community Foundation and Love the Bulb, a community group dedicated to stewardship of nature and art at this former landfill on Albany's shoreline.  For the planting, please arrive promptly at 9 am so we can give you initial information and guide you to the planting site. Those who attend and volunteer their time  will receive an official Friends of Albany Parks T-shirt.

Community Discussion (Beginning at Noon)

Once the clean-up is complete, we gather together for a community discussion geared toward developing ideas for further park improvement and getting residents consistently involved in the maintenance. The Community Discussion helps foster a better sense of community and build social capital as neighbors meet and work together.
