4-Wheel Bob + Umunhum
Filmmaker Q&A

7:30pm • Wednesday, March 21 | Albany Twin Theatre
$10 (included with Festival Pass)

Life is a journey. Be inspired!

What does it take to restore a sacred peak or climb a mountain in wheelchair? These two documentaries speak to challenge and inspiration. Stay after the films for a Q&A with Umunhum’s Andy Miller and the Chairman of the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band; and meet 4-Wheel Bob’s unstoppable Bob Coomber and filmmaker Tal Skloot.

Thanks to East Bay Regional Park District & Regional Parks Foundation for underwriting this screening.

Umunhum • Andy Miller (Documentary short, 12:00)

What is the view from a sacred mountain peak? The inspiring story of the collaboration between the native Amah Mutsun Tribal Band and the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District to restore and heal Mt. Umunhum and open it to the public.

4-Wheel Bob • Tal Skloot (Documentary feature, 72:00)

Intrepid adventurer Bob Coomber sets out to be the first wheelchair hiker to cross the 11,845-foot Kearsarge Pass in the Sierra Nevada. For Bob in his wheelchair, the famously steep and prolonged trail is fraught with danger. He must deal continually with altitude sickness and the threat of diabetic coma, not to mention possible fatal or crippling falls in the steep terrain. This story of overcoming immense obstacles inspires us to look at our own self-imposed limitations and perhaps reach beyond what we think is possible.
