3. PUBLIC COMMENT

For persons desiring to address the Commission/Committee/Board on an item that is not on the agenda. Please note that each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes. The Chair may reduce the time limit per speaker depending on the number of speakers. The Brown Act limits the Commission’s ability to take and/or discuss items that are not on the agenda; therefore, such items are normally referred to staff for comment or to a future agenda.

All persons wishing to speak on an item on the agenda are to fill out speaker cards and provide to the staff liaison. Comments related to items appearing on the agenda are taken up at the time the Commission deliberates each action item. The Chair will announce when the period for public comment is open on each agenda item.

7-1 SEJC Rent Review Memo to Council - SEJC response to the January 8, 2018 Council staff update on rent review, public comment and task force formation.

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission review the draft memo written by Members Diehl and Marks, provide comments and recommend sending the memo with approved changes to the Council.

Staff recommendation: That the Commission direct the subcommittee comprised of Members Diehl and Marks regarding preferred key elements the Commission would like to see included for discussion at the Rent Review Program Draft Ordinance task force meeting.

7-3 Final Report of the Community Resource Center Pilot Project

Staff Recommendation: That the Commission review the final report on the Community Resource Center Pilot Project and formulate a recommendation with pro/con analysis for consideration by the Council for the provision of services to vulnerable populations.
