6. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ITEMS ON MATTERS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING
ITEMS:

6-1: Discuss potential for open space use of Caltrans Right-of-Way (Council Strategic Plan 3.2 C)
Aleida Andrino-Chavez, Transportation Planner, will discuss Park and Ride project and other Caltrans sites.

6-2: Ohlone Greenway Memorial Tree Replacement
Select a new location for the replacement of the Koepke Memorial Tree that was removed during the Ohlone
Greenway Project.
Recommended Action: Select new site based upon recommendations from John Hawkridge, Urban Forester

6-3: Dartmouth Tot Lot Project Update
Majority of the Dartmouth Tot Lot Project is complete except installation of a new park sign.
Recommended Action: a.) Commission discuss making a recommendation to Council to change the name of
the park to Opal’s Tot Lot or keep Dartmouth Tot Lot as the name. b.) Approve design of park sign to match
other City Park signs (Jewel’s Terrace and Peggy Thomsen Pierce Street)

6-4: Ohlone Greenway Log Scramble Fence
The playground inspector recommended an additional fence to create a barrier between the log scramble and
the street for added safety. Fence has been designed by RGD and Public Works and will be installed by Public
Works crew.
Recommended Action: Approve the installation of the safety fence at the Ohlone Greenway Log Scramble

Recommended Action: Nominate and select a Chair and Vice Chair
