6. DISCUSSIONS AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON MATTERS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
6-1. Conceptual Design for Pedestrian improvements along San Pablo Avenue and Buchanan Street - Presentation
Staff Recommendation: Receive information from Aleida Andrino-Chavez, Transportation Planner, on design development for the installation of bulb outs, medians, high visibility crosswalks, and audible pedestrian signals along San Pablo Avenue and for pedestrian improvements at three intersections on Buchanan street: The gateway plaza at the Buchanan/Pierce intersection, a Pedestrian Hybrid beacon at Buchanan and Taylor, and the realignment of the Marin/Buchanan merge, which provides an opportunity to create a garden gateway. Staff is making a round of presentations to the different committees and commissions and is seeking input from the Economic Development Committee pertaining to opportunities this project may present to benefit economic development in the City.
6-2. Implementation Plan for Economic Development Strategic Plan
Staff Recommendation: That the Committee review the implementation plan approved by the City Council on November 20, 2017, identifies priorities and next steps.
6-3. Subcommittee Reports
Staff Recommendation: Receive updates from recently established subcommittees - Arts subcommittee; Long-term goals subcommittee; Staffing subcommittee
6-4. Selection of Chair and Vice-Chair
Staff Recommendation: The Committee shall select a Member to serve as Chair and Member to serve as Vice Chair for 2018.
7. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
(Committee Member announcement of requests for future agenda items. No public comment will be taken on announcement of future agenda items).
