It's the Albany Clothing Swap…only bigger and better! It's the Clothing Swap-o-rama-rama! It's really three events in one.
The Clothing Swap: As usual, bring used (clean) clothes. We'll set all the clothes out on tables and you can choose what you like to wear as-is or alter.
Clothing Alteration and Repair: Choose clothes from the Swap or bring clothes you'd like to repair/alter. In collaboration with the Fixit Clinic, we will have skilled volunteers, sewing machines, sewing notions and tools to help you bring your old clothes back to life or turn new-to-you clothes into a fabulous ‘new’ garment. Shirts can become skirts or dresses, pants can become purses. We'll have people and printed matter to help you re-envision your clothes!
Sewing Machine Fixit: Bring your working or non-working sewing machine and our trained Fixit Clinic volunteers can help you reacquaint yourself with your sewing machine and perhaps even help you repair your non-working sewing machine! Fixit Clinic is only from 3pm – 5pm.
What to Bring: Bring your clothes to swap, your working (or non-working) sewing machine, sewing notions (thread, buttons, patches, pins, etc.), and any fabric items you want to mend.
