Street Sweeping Service Update Blue Odd with Normal Street Sweeping Done on Fridays

The City's street sweeping program is currently under review due to an abrupt service cancellation by the company contracted to conduct street sweeping.
The City is in process of contracting with another street sweeping company to provide interim sweeping services. The goal, for the interim, is to sweep streets where there are City posted "no-parking" street sweeping signage. The City's Public Works Department is currently coordinating with the contractor to confirm this interim program can be conducted, and the contractor is doing a test sweeping on certain streets. (Some residents may have seen a street sweeper out and about - this was a test sweeping). Pending confirmation from the contractor, we anticipate the interim sweeping will begin the week of January 23rd. The temporary vendor feels your neighborhood is very busy on Friday afternoons and has requested a possible alternative. You will be notified as soon as we get confirmation should there be a temporary change in your normal schedule. Thank you for your patience as we sort the situation out.
The City is also working towards a long-term solution and we anticipate requesting approval from the City Council in March to issue a Request for Proposals for Citywide Street Sweeping Services, with a new contract in place by this Spring.
