ARTS COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA

1. CALL TO ORDER

3. PUBLIC COMMENT
For persons desiring to address the Commission/Committee/Board on an item that is not on the agenda please note that each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes. The Brown Act limits the Committee’s ability to take and/or discuss items that are not on the agenda; therefore, such items are normally referred to staff for comment or to future agenda.

6-1: Art Festival on Bulb: Susan Moffat will present a concept for an Art Festival on the Albany Bulb.

7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS

7-1: Community Center Foyer Gallery: Member Black will provide an update on the Community Center Foyer Gallery.

Recommended Action: Information Only

7-2: Public Art Projects Plan (PAPP): Staff will update the Committee on the Ohlone Greenway Call for Artists (Creek Art, San Gabriel Play Sculpture), Community Projects and Sculpture Loan Program.

Recommended Action: Information Only

7-3: Fall into Haiku: Chair Goodman will present the Fall into Haiku Call for Artists.

Recommended Action: That the Committee approve the Fall into Haiku Call for Artists.

7-4: Poet Laureate: Chair Goodman will provide an update on the Albany Poet Laureate program and the Committee will review the Poet Laureate application submitted by Rebecca Black.

Recommended Action: That the Committee review the Poet Laureate application submitted by Rebecca Black and vote to approve or deny the application.

8. NEW BUSINESS

8-1: Election of Vice Chair: The Committee will nominate and elect a Vice Chair.

Recommended Action: That the Committee elect a Vice Chair for the remainder of 2016.

9. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
(Commission/Committee/Board Member announcement of requests for future agenda items. No public comment will be taken on announcement of future agenda items). Note: There are no public meetings in August. Next Meeting: September 12, 2016.
