Committee Purpose
Advise the City Council on cultural and artistic matters within the City including the acquisition and placement of public art. The Committee adheres to the Public Arts Master Plan, the Art in Public Places Ordinance and the Public Arts Project Plan in order to support, develop and promote art in Albany and increase the economic vitality of the City.

Committee Composition
The Committee will consist of a total of seven members. Five of the member seats shall be appointed by each of the Council members, individually. Two of the member seats shall be appointed by City Council as a Whole (one for a high school student and one for a high school student or an adult who is affiliated with students). The term runs until the next Municipal election (every 2 years).
